Amazingly Moving Video

Everytime I see this video... it brings me to tears. Well, a little more like gasping, shoulder racking sobbing towards the end.

I wanted to post it here in hopes that maybe people who might not come across it otherwise, will get a chance to see it.

Whatever Happened To Professionalism.

Tuesday evening I called the lawn guy and left yet another message... Basically saying, "You pretty much know why I'm calling. I'm very upset and extremely irritated. I just got home from work and my lawn is still not done. You were supposed to be here last week. You told me Sunday evening that you would be here Monday afternoon or Tuesday latest. At this point, if you don't show up tomorrow, don't bother coming back. I would like to have my lawn done tomorrow when I get home, please."

Well, I got home Wednesday... lawn still not done! (Tomorrow will be three weeks since it was done... at this point I'm embarrassed to pull into my own driveway!) So I called the guy that stopped in Sunday to see if I needed someone; I should have just had him do it then. He said he was on his way home and would come by shortly. He lives down the street from me. So he came around 7 PM and took care of it. I paid him extra because of the mess he had to clean up and for coming right away. Hopefully this guy works out. Oh, and he's a roofer... doing the lawn thing on the side. Which just may come in handy as I may need some roof work done.

The Little Lady... NOT!

I haven't decided on a name yet... was mulling over Sadie, but for some reason holding back on it. For one thing, a 'little lady' she is not. What a spitfire! Constantly racing and chasing, and since I'm her designated playmate, she's just wearing me out. She just wants to chase and attack everything, including me. Mom said, "With those big ears, she's a hunter." She wasn't kidding.

It is awesome to see her building and honing those hunting skills... even though she's just a tiny thing at play. Most the time I can't help but laugh as she hunkers down wriggling her butt... then rushing whatever was in her line of sight. She goes after things that are 10 times her size... no fear what-so-ever. She chases the boys out the bedroom, scampering sideways with her back arched. I was sorting laundry and she was going after everything I was throwing. Anything I have in my hand is potential prey as she comes ripping over to tackle it, even my big honkin' remote control. I have a back massager thing... it's a wooden ball with four straight sitck things jutting out like legs with smaller balls on the ends. Well that has become her 'sparring' partner! She tackles it and wrestles it... I managed to get pictures of this event. One picture is where the massager is on top of her. LOL (I'll post some pics).

She now has started doing some slow 'creeping up on prey' antics. She stalks the boys or my hands and feet most the time. I get awakened in the middle of the night with her attacking my hands and fingers. I haven't slept a full night since I got her. I don't get to sleep in on weekends anymore either... mom called me Saturday morning, "You up?" "I have a baby in the house now... I've been up since 7:30!", I replied. I am sooooo tired!!! And I am getting nothing done.

Stopped in to see my dad last night before he goes to Alaska. He left this morning to work up there for a few months... construction job. We had dinner then went out to the patio for some smokes and catching up. Then I went home to see if the lawn men had shown up to do my yard yet... they were supposed to be there last week. Right now my lawn is embarrassingly long. No, it still was not done.

Let's Get Acquainted...

I'm single, living in a three bedroom doublewide, had one cat... but now suddenly find myself with three. The newest edition is a sweet but VERY rambunctious little female kitten. Always wants attention. The older boys did not take her entrance too well.

Jackson, which is a male stray that decided to move in around 1999 (I was in PA at the time), is the oldest. He's not liking this addition at all. He is quite put out over it. He's had my sole attention for a few years now.

Simon, another male stray, came to stay in February. The company I work for buys foreclosed homes, remodels them, and then sells them. Simon was left behind at one of the homes we bought. Jack took to him pretty well, not sure if it's because Simon looks like a younger and smaller version of himself.

So this is my feline family.
